creator of Carpool Wellness

I created Carpool Wellness organically- I took my passion for helping people achieve their nutrition and fitness goals and saw a huge need in my sphere of influence for a systematic approach that provides transformative results, with personalized and consistent accountability. 

 

Early into motherhood, I was waiting in the preschool carpool line to pick up my two daughters, and there was a tap on the window. It was a fellow mom wanting advice on nutrition-she was desperate for ways to have more energy and to feel like "herself" again...she was surviving but not thriving. She was overwhelmed with no lack of "superior" options that had bombarded her from every corner of social media... "but how do I choose one and where do I even START?" I felt empathy for her situation and heard it all too often from my friends and family...there is no lack of opinion, but how is anyone supposed to weed through and choose the path best for THEM?

 

What started as casual conversation became a small crowd around the car each afternoon, full of great conversation: laying down the basics of energy balance, macronutrients and their importance in achieving body composition goals, fitness fundamentals, and busting myths about current nutrition fads that can be enticing yet detrimental!

It lit a fire in me to close the LARGE void that exists for busy parents. I wanted to provide research-based, simple, and effective nutrition, exercise, and total wellness guidance, coming from an actual person with practical application. And from preschool carline, Carpool Wellness was born!

My Story

Helping others achieve their health goals has always been my mission field. I started my adult career as a Special Education Teacher, and after having my first daughter, decided to dive back into my passion for fitness professionally. I became NASM Certified as a Personal Trainer, working at a primarily women's gym. The importance of proper nutrition and wellness habits (sleep, hydration, self care, personal development, etc) became immediately obvious to me as a huge area in which busy young women were not well educated or well versed... and have been gravely led astray with fad diets and marketing ploys. I completed further certifications to widen my spectrum of experience in Nutrition, Women's Athletic Performance, as well as became a Certified Pre- and Postpartum Specialist.

With these certifications and TRULY the practical application of helping hundreds of women and men achieve their health and fitness goals, I solidified my best practices into the acronym FUELED, and created the FUELED Method. This method is not revolutionary- and any plan that claims to be, should be approached with caution! Rather, it takes the 5 pillars of wellness and implements them in a way that allows you to EDUCATE and EXECUTE with ease, with me right alongside you in the journey.
